About Pete
I try to celebrate the most important moments and share them. My own best memories combine wonderful humans and great places. The beautiful light, the perfect view, the dramatic colours.
I paint my ideas with digital brushes. Then I hand-craft limited edition screenprints.
I often work at Volcanic Editions, a studio owned by the master printmaker Ian Brown, in the heart of Brighton. Mixing acrylic and paste and working by hand allows for the physical process to change my intentions.
I use Lascaux acrylic Inks which are water-based and hold their intensity. The paper is usually 400gsm thick so it’s really stable for the ink and water. I often use transparent colours to amplify their tones as I print them one on top of another.
My editions are short - so there are only a few copies of each print that will ever be made. If you choose to own one, you’ll be taking home a hand produced painting rather than a commercially produced print.
Each one of my prints has a What3Words location so you can find out exactly where in the world that painting came from. And often the titles will be tongue teasers.
When you choose to share your life with a piece of art, please consider the expression ‘hand finished’. Some studios add a hand-pulled transparent glaze or single colour to giclee copies to create value. These are still machine-made posters with a minimum of the artist’s hand. I love both but they are very different!
